I get a lot of questions regarding what cleanses are the best for one looking to detox. So, I thought I’d post a recipe for one of my favorites as well as discuss where I stand on this issue. First off, I believe in the process of cleansing and detoxing. The human body comes in contact with many harmful toxins and chemicals each day- They are in our food, air and even in products such as lotions and deodorants. A detox can help your body to rid itself of some of these toxins, naturally, while also giving your body a chance to rest, repair and regroup. Secondly, I don’t for the most part believe in any over the counter detox method. For one they contain more harmful chemicals than you think. The chemicals that we are trying to rid our bodies from exist in these drinks as well as the marketing lies that promise instant health or weight loss. To research this for yourself, check out the ingredients labels on these products.. IF they aren’t 100% organic, GMO-Free and consist on ONLY organic herbs, fruits or veggies then it will not do what it says it will… In fact, it can do more harm if anything.
I believe we should live in “cleanse mode” meaning, the food and drinks we consume on a daily basis should naturally cleanse us. I believe in eating as organically as I can as well as avoiding processed foods while drinking my homemade detox drinks each week. No starving the body of foods and no harmful chemicals. The great thing is there are many different detox drinks that can be made in batches that are inexpensive and honestly host pure health. Here is one that I have been making lastly. I will post more herbs, fruits and vegetables drinks in the future to help you have a variety of cleansing detoxes.
